Medicare Rebates

Claiming Your Rebate

With a Mental Health Care Plan, Medicare rebates can be claimed. The current rebate is $98.95 per session. Medicare rebates can be processed after your session if you bring your Medicare card.

You may also be eligible for rebates from your private health insurer — please check with your individual provider as your policy determines coverage.

Please note: you cannot claim both Medicare and Private Health for the same session.

Cancellation Policy

48 Hours Notice Required

I require 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment. With less than 48 hours notice, the full session fee is payable.

This policy is in place to ensure cancelled appointments can be offered to others on the wait list.

Please note: fees due to late cancellation cannot be claimed on Medicare.

Do I Need a Referral?

You do not need a referral to book an appointment. However, you can obtain a referral from your doctor (Mental Health Care Plan) if you wish.

Your Mental Health Care Plan must be current (issued as generic or directly to the psychologist you are seeing within the past 12 months), and you must bring a copy on the day of your first appointment.

Mental Health Care Plan

Most General Practitioners require you to book a double consult if you require a Mental Health Care Plan. This ensures both you and your GP have enough time to determine the referral reason and choose a suitable psychologist.

If you have a diagnosed psychological disorder including anxiety and/or depression, or significant life stress, you are eligible for a care plan.
